With over 35 years of experience in the park, recreation, and public lands management profession in agencies across the nation, Steve Wolter, CIPP, CPRP, currently serves as the Executive Director of the Eppley Institute for Parks and Public Lands at Indiana University. In his experience Steve has served in management and executive roles in local government agencies, and consulted with federal, state, local, non-profit, and for profit organizations across the U.S.
Steve has served NRPA, CPRS, IPRA, and numerous non-profit organizations as a board or committee member, and currently focuses on training, consulting, research, and education of students and professionals in parks, recreation and public lands. He has served as the primary leader of the award winning Eppley Institute since 2001 including the initial professional development and education strategies implemented in many public agencies. Mr. Wolter teaches leadership nationwide, for Indiana University’s graduate program, for the National Park Service, and many other organizations. His speaking expertise includes philanthropy and fundraising, leadership and organizational development, public policy, and change management. His speaking and training engagements include presentations throughout the Midwest and nation, as well as internationally in Australia, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Denmark, Australia, Hong Kong and the People’s Republic of China.
