Dirk Richwine, CPRP, joined the City of Henderson (Nevada) Parks and Recreation Department in 1999, and currently serves as Recreation Superintendent. Henderson has been one of the fastest-growing cities in the United States since 1990, and this exponential growth continues into the 21st century. The City of Henderson Parks and Recreation Department is both a National Gold Medal Award winner and a CAPRA accredited agency.
Prior to joining the City of Henderson, Dirk served as director of Parks, Recreation and Community Services for the City of Brighton, Colorado, for five years. He also has experience working in various communities in Arizona.
He is currently president-elect of the Nevada Recreation and Parks Society, commission member for the Commission on Accreditation of Parks and Recreation Agencies (CAPRA), and board member on the NRPA Administrator’s Network. He also served as a board member of the Pacific Southwest Revenue Management School and as chair of the Rocky Mountain Revenue Management School.
Dirk holds a master’s degree in public administration from Golden State University and a bachelor’s degree in community recreation from Arizona State University.
