Terry Robertson Ph.D.

Terry Robertson Ph.D. is an Associate Dean within the College of Health and Human Services at California State University, Long Beach. Dr. Robertson has more than 20 years of experience in higher education as a faculty member, program director, department chair serving in a variety of other administrative roles. He was awarded a Jim Whyte Research Fellowship in the School of Business, Economics and Law at Queensland University in Brisbane, Australia. Prior to working in higher education, Dr. Robertson worked professionally in a variety of settings (mental health, substance abuse, senior services, and community-based special recreation (inclusive and clinical) programs and services. Dr. Robertson has served on many local, state, national, and international boards and commissions. He also served eight years as a publicly-elected member (chair) of a county health board. Past president of the National Therapeutic Recreation Society, Missouri Park and Recreation Association, Co-Editor of the Therapeutic Recreation Journal, Associate Editor of the American Therapeutic Recreation Association Annual, and editorial board of other publications. Dr. Robertson has presented at many state, national and international conferences and has published numerous articles, a textbook, and multiple other book chapters, research monographs, technical reports and training program materials.
