Jeff Muck started working in the parks and recreation field as a 14 year old Little League baseball umpire in Adrian, MI. Over the course of his career, he has been a camp counselor, youth sports coach, facility supervisor, recreation manager, special events coordinator, and other roles in Madison, WI, Brighton, MI and Milford, MI. He has served as the Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services Director for the City of Novi since 2014.
Jeff oversees the operations of City-wide recreation programs; cultural services; activities, including youth and adult sports, events, and cultural arts opportunities; as well as park acquisition and development, and coordination of capital improvement projects for Novi’s more than 1,500 acres of parkland. In 2016, the Novi Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services Department achieved accreditation from the National Recreation and Park Association by the Commission for Accreditation of Parks and Recreation Agencies - CAPRA. Novi Parks is one of three accredited agencies in Michigan and one of 206 nationwide to be honored with this prestigious distinction.
Jeff is a graduate of Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in Parks and Recreation Management. He has been a Certified Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP) since 2001. He has served as President of the Michigan Parks and Recreation Association along with several other roles including Vice Chair of the Public Policy Committee, Chair of the Directors Committee, Chair of the Scholarship Committee and has presented at numerous state and national conferences. In addition, he serves on his Township’s Parks and Recreation Committee and is Chairperson of the Planning Commission. He was inducted into the Western Michigan University Alumni Honor Academy of Health, Physical Education and Recreation in 2010.
