Jane Boubel is a consultant in parks and recreation management. She works with organizations in the areas of department leadership and assessment, organizational structure and systems, team building and facilitation. Prior to the consulting phase of her career she was the Director of Parks, Arts and Recreation for the city of Olympia, Washington for 18 years. While in Olympia she developed a full service parks, arts and recreation department. When she arrived in Olympia the department was a parks maintenance operation. She is particularly proud of the youth and family recreation programs and an active arts program that developed under her leadership. She was also instrumental in the creation of a 20 year plan for parks acquisition and development, and Olympia's park system doubled it's acreage during her tenure.
Prior career positions include professional positions with the city of Ketchikan, Alaska, Girl Scouts and Outdoor Schools. Jane has been active nationally with Agency Accreditation, Professional Certification, Congress Program Committee, Pacific NW Regional Council and the Pacific NW Maintenance Management School. In the state of Washington Jane served as a board member of the Washington Wildlife and Recreation Coalition, member of the Washington State Parks panel on potential park strategies and the resulting legislative efforts to maintain parks and funding, and active member of the Washington Recreation and Parks Association.
Jane's personal interests include community service, golf and skiing, knitting, and spending time with family and friends.
