Chris Beth is the Director of the Redwood City Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department in California. Chris is a resident of Redwood City, has served in the municipal park and recreation profession for over 32 years, and is very thankful to have worked for the City of Redwood City for the past 24 years. The 70 full time person Department manages a $22M budget with 30 parks, 5 community centers, two pools, and 278 acres of parkland. A San Jose State University and Cal State Hayward alum, Chris holds a Bachelor of Science Recreation
and Leisure Studies degree and a Master of Public Administration.
Chris has been very involved in the California Park and
Recreation
Society (CPRS) where he has served on the local District, Region, and State Boards. Chris served on the State Board of Directors for 6 years, and was President in 2009-2010. Chris was inducted as a Fellow for the American Academy for Park and Recreation Administration (AAPRA) in 2019.
Finally, Chris has served on the Redwood City Police Activities League Board of Directors for the past 25 years, and is the Liaison to the Redwood City Parks and Arts Foundation which he helped launch in 2012.
