Tara Gee

Tara Gee has worked for the City of Roseville, California since 1997 as a licensed landscape architect and is the Park Planning & Development Manager overseeing the Park Development Division. The City of Roseville had 23 parks in 1997. By the end of 2024, with Tara’s guidance, Roseville will have 90 parks and will still be growing. Tara has also overseen multiple design and construction phases of the City’s regional parks, major park rehabilitation projects, thousands of acres of open space acquisitions and facilitated the completion of over 250 acres of street landscapes. Tara also managed the Parks, Recreation & Libraries Department’s 2022 Strategic Master Plan. 


Tara has been actively involved with the California Park & Recreation Society (CPRS) teaching at state Conferences, regional forums throughout California and local trainings. She is a Regent Emeritus, teaching for more than 20 years at Maintenance Management School, which was first sponsored by NRPA and is now a CPRS program. She has also taught at NRPA, Sacramento State University as a guest speaker and elementary schools. Tara has served on various boards, special task forces and committees with CPRS, including the Development & Operations Board as a Board member and President as well as the State Board as Secretary/Treasurer, Vice-President, President-Elect and was the 2020-21 President. Tara remains active with CPRS serving on the JEDI Counsel, Legislative Committee, Secretary on the Board of Trustees for the California Foundation for Parks & Recreation and is Co-Chair working with CPRS on the Conference Exhibit Hall. 


Tara has published a number of articles in CPRS’s magazine in addition to tri-annual editorials during her presidential year. Tara is also the author of “The Holy Thread”, a Christian children’s book.
