For 35 years Mark A. Young, CPRP, provided leadership for public parks and recreation systems in Indianapolis and Bloomington in Indiana and in Columbus, Ohio. Mark’s professional career focused on park system planning and management, protecting natural resources, providing recreation opportunities for communities and engaging citizens as advocates for parks and recreation.
Mark served for nine years as a trustee for the National Recreation and Park Association. As a 12 -year member of NRPA’s public policy committee, he has worked diligently to advance the national legislative agenda for parks, recreation and environmental conservation. Mark was the president of the National Society for Park Resources in 2008-2009, and is currently the chair of NRPA’s Park Resources Network.
