  • Emeritus Fellow

Both categories recognize individuals who have demonstrated leadership, professional excellence, and commitment to advancing parks and recreation.

There are four Fellow types:

  • Educator
  • Advocate
  • Urban Director

Each category has specific eligibility criteria and a maximum number of Fellows.

How do Urban Director nominations work?
Urban Director Fellows are nominated through the Urban Directors Committee. Current Academy Fellows may submit a candidate’s name and background to the Committee Chair. The Committee reviews submissions and forwards recommended nominees to the Board of Directors for approval.

How are nominations evaluated?
Each membership criterion is weighted based on the Fellow category. Weighted values for Professional/Practitioner, Educator, and Advocate nominees are available in the Member Criteria and Weighted Values PDF.
