6 Tips to Nominate a Future Academy Member

The Academy’s Membership Committee hosted a Zoom on “6 Tips to Nominate a Future Academy Member.” Committee members shared their tips about identifying a nominee ensuring they have the required 15 years of high level of administrative experience as well as ensuring your nominee knows about the Academy’s JEDI pledge. 2023 NRPA Revenue Development & Management School Scholarship

The American Parks & Recreation Foundation (Foundation), nonprofit philanthropic partner of the American Academy for Park & Recreation Administration (Academy), announces scholarships to cover the tuition for two (2) professionals to attend the National Recreation & Park Association’s 2023 Revenue Development & Management School (Year 1), which will be held March 12-17 at the Oglebay National Training Center in Wheeling, WV. The Revenue Development & Management School is designed to provide parks and recreation professionals with the knowledge, skills. and resources to build and manage budgets and develop alternative revenue streams.

Pennsylvania Local Leader Receives the Honorable Cornelius Amory Pugsley Medal

Prestigious award recognizes outstanding contributions in parks and conservation

A prominent Pennsylvania park and conversation leader, William Mitchell, received the Cornelius Amory Pugsley Medal for Parks and Conservation, September 21, 2022, at the annual award hosted by the American Academy for Park and Recreation Administration in Phoenix, Arizona. The Honorable Cornelius Amory Pugsley Medals are the most prestigious awards that recognize outstanding contributions to the promotion and development of public parks and conservation in the United States. The inaugural Pugsley Medals were awarded in 1928.
